My 93-year-old grandmother suffered an ankle injury that was inoperable. She has been hobbling around in pain with an unsteady foot for years. We have tried many other ankle braces on the market, including a custom orthopedic leather brace. Nothing helped or gave her the support that she needed. I took a chance on the. Tayco over the shoe brace, and it is the only thing we have found that gives her the support and stability she needs to be able to walk. It has relieved a lot of her pain and discomfort, and given her more confidence in movement. We are ordering a second brace so she will have a back up. We also ordered some extra replacement parts, so we will have them on hand to replace worn pieces. Excellent company to work with, wonderful customer, service, and fast shipping.

I have purchased and tried so many support braces and associated products that I have lost count. The Athletics has become an answer to my ankle surgery woes. I can now easily and comfortably walk with the added support I needed without the pain I have become accustomed to in the past. Optimal design and support. I haven’t tried riding my bike yet or running the trails like i had prior to reconstruction surgery on my foot and ankle, but I plan to work up to it while using this support brace. I am very pleased with the design of this product.

I fractured my foot 7 months ago and won't bore you with the long journey to here. At first we thought it was a sprain but once diagnosed I tried to wear a boot. It totally threw my back out. I kept searching for something that would create more stability for my foot without instability for the rest of my body. This is perfect. By wearing this, I am hoping to avoid surgery.

This brace helped me greatly with confidence and stability while I am returning to sports after a complete Achilles rupture and surgery

This brace isa great support for my ankle. I would highly recommend this brace for anyone needing support for their ankle.

I have a foot with issues the braces doesn't support I've tried it everyday since I receive it doesn't help mines not about a fracture.
I need balance in my foot not ankle or calf.

I was suffering from a messed up tendon in my left foot. I was wearing a fabric brace that fit on my ankle/foot inside my shoe. It was a real pain putting it on and off and was not comfortable. I thought it was helping.
When I fit the Tayco Brace and got up and walked I was amazed. Much of the pain was gone and the fit and comfort was amazing. Now that I have worn it for a week I hardly notice I’m wearing a brace. It’s so much better being on the outside of my shoe. I’m thinking of buying a second one to wear when I go hunting and keep one clean and nice for everyday use. My ankle had been swollen for weeks. The swelling went down after about 4-5 days of wearing the new brace. It’s given me new hope that now that the ankle is so well supported and comfortable the tendon may actually heal.

I cannot say enough about the Tyco x athletic brace. After having Achilles surgery and then finding out I had a peroneal tendon tear I thought I would have to cancel my upcoming hiking trip in Joshua Tree. I knew I would be climbing boulders and hiking long miles and needed something to support my ankle so it would not roll and tear further. This brace was exactly what I needed and so I ordered it. It offered great stability and supported my ankle perfectly and comfortably. No rolls or pain of any kind while using this. It also was hinged at the ankle thus giving me the full range of motion I needed. You can’t go wrong if you purchase this and will be glad if you do.

I've been waiting to review this item but I keep getting overwhelmed with emails from the company asking for a review. I'll give it a shot...

I bought this for my father who has problems with his ankle. It arrived without the straps that are needed to secure the apparatus to his leg. We contacted the company, unfortunately the straps could not arrive before he left for a three month trip to the Dominican Republic. I desperately wanted him to have it before he left for the trip so he could be more comfortable. I guess it just wasn't in the cards. In fact it has been well over a month and the straps still have not arrived.

I do not know if it works well, or if it even works at all. He'll be back in April. Hopefully the straps will arrive by then. We'll give it a shot. Oh well...

I have severely injured my ankle and being immobilized is not an option. This recovery brace is the only way I can be on my feet and have little to no pain.

ordered direct as their price was better. Even got q discount, Garret was attentive, knew my dr’s group and knew exactly what was needed after explaining the procedure i had. Total ankle replacement. Brace arrived via FedfX. Garret was available for any questions and fitting issues, even had facetime available to confirm fit. Great Company and Service!!

I have drop foot from a back surgery. I was hoping the brace would keep my ankle from rolling when I walk and it would be better then my AFO. It didn't work and caused swelling to the inside of my lower leg. I know my foot problem was not what the brace was intended for but I was hoping it would be a better alternative than my AFO.

Easy-On Sports Brace - AthleticX Brace

My son struggled with sprained ankles during last year's basketball season. I bought him a right ankle brace this season to prevent sprains. So far, so good! Unfortunately now he sprained his other ankle, so I had to quickly order him the left brace as well, so now he's sporting both braces on each ankle, but seems to prevent any more sprains, so thank you that he can keep playing!

I ordered a replacement strap for an athletic X brace strap that goes over the top of the shoe. the strap was not the correct length. tayco reached out to me and to me and then overnighted the correct strap. i was very impressed; did not expect that at all.

I suffered a severe injury to my ankle (comminuted fractures to Talus, Navicular, Cuboid, Calcaneus, and neck fracture to the Fibula) with tendon and nerve injuries and had progressed from a wheelchair through a walking boot. Unfortunately, I still needed support to walk and was recommended to use an ankle brace with a cane by my surgeon. I ended up locating the AthleticX by searching online for something on the outside of the shoe as the inside the shoe was too bulky with the swelling in my foot. I chose this one because I didn't feel like I needed the full leg support of the other variants and wanted to get back to as much activity as possible. I have used it for about 2 -1/2 months now and couldn’t be more pleased. It’s been a tremendous help in my mobility. There is a noticeable difference for me with and without the brace from a pain management standpoint. The AthleticX brace provides ample support where my pain is the most severe in the sub-talar joint and significantly helps with my pain levels, although swelling is still a problem even with the brace. I can last a full day on my feet with the brace and about an hour without it before the joint pain becomes an issue. The only thing I would change is to have more padding in the ankle area due to the atrophy in my calf. I would absolutely purchase again and feel blessed to have it for my treatment.

The brace was not what I expected and it doesn’t work for me.

My daughter is very active, will not pause a moment for pain, so we knew it was bad when she said she couldn't go to practice.
Varsity High school and travel team pitcher, currently being recruted. This was poor timing for shin splints to show up, but level 3 on an MRI they did (level 4 is stress fracture). We had to act quick. After just one day she was in love with this brace that allowed her to play an entire "rec-league" basketball game. Now my 14 yr old athletic son wants one as well cause it looks "sick". Looking forward to the stability it provides.

I can not express how much of a difference my TayCo AthleticX Brace has made in one short week!! After a trimalleoar fracture with dislocation, surgery, 4 screws, and a lengthy non-weight bearing recovery period, I am finally confident with my ankle stability and walking safely! The 3 1/2 months between my fall and finding the TayCo AthleticX brace was stressful... wondering how I would recover & rehab safely from this injury. I had minimal guidance from my doctor regarding a 'next step' brace once I could stop using the awkward & uncomfortable CAM Boot. The 'inside-the-shoe' brace options were either flimsy, poorly constructed, didn't fit, or did nothing to support the joint or boost my confidence so that I could safely rehab & recover as winter approached.
Then one night, there they were.... The TayCo AthleticX and the RecoverX. I went back & forth about which to order, and Kelly was amazing answering my various questions regarding fit, as well as ensuring my order arrived in advance of my next ortho appointment! I chose the AthleticX because of the fit details (height of side uprights were a better fit for me. As soon as I put the brace on, I knew it was different, and the perfect solution to ensure a great recovery!
The stirrup strap was easy to set/adjust and it fits very securely along the bottom of several pairs of shoes. The series of 3 straps are perfectly placed, providing great support and easy adjustability should my foot swell during/after PT or activity. The strap lengths are AMAZING! This has been a huge sticking point for me as I was 'blessed' with generous ankles & calves.... LOL! The strap across the top of the foot has plenty of room to adjust for many different shoes, or snow boots, and the 2 ankle straps are more than sufficient for a comfortable and supportive fit! And Kelly made sure I knew that the longer straps from the RecoverX brace could always be substituted should the original ones not fit.
My physical therapist, doctor, chiropractor, and even a brace/prosthetics specialist were all impressed with the design and the support. I have made amazing strides in physical therapy since starting to use the AthletcX, and my physical therapist is more than happy with the support, and confidence, this brace has given me. My chiropractor is thrilled to see me out of the boot and into a brace which allows for proper alignment in my hips, low back, knees, and encourages a natural gait. He's even looking into getting one for himself! While my ankle is still regaining strength, flexibility, and mobility, and there is still pain, I am overall feeling so much better, both physically and mentally! My body no longer aches because of awkward gait & misalignment. My confidence when walking, even with winter weather, is 100% because of the support from the AthleticX. And because my body is doing better and I'm able to do more, my mental health is so much better!!
A complex ankle fracture takes a toll on your mind and soul. It impacts every aspect of your life... and can stretch your patience, determination, and confidence. Any bit of independence you can reclaim, no matter how small, makes a huge difference in your recovery. And having the RecoverX on my ankle has been the biggest difference!
