For someone that has had a triple arthrodesis, a second metatarsal fusion, and a collapsing ankle joint, all on the right foot, I have come to believe there was very little to nothing that could be done to help alleviate the pain and aid in movement. I bought the athletic version of the brace and am very surprised so far. It has aided in taking away a lot of the stress on the foot as I walk. I have spent thousands of dollars on various braces, wraps and / or anything else I thought would help. It's not a cheap brace to buy, but it's not a cheap brace either. It does have a few flaws like the top "bridge" strap digs into the bone because you HAVE to pull it tight or it won't work and the bottom "arch" strap is already showing wear because that touches the ground with each step. If the arch strap breaks, the brace is useless so time will tell if the cost of the brace is equal to the time it can be used. The arch strap should be warrantied for the life (currently a 365 day warranty) because of its location. It is a good brace, better than most any I've tied in the past but time will tell on how it holds up vs. price.

I work in forestry hiking in the Ozarks. I quit wearing forestry boots cause the compression is painful after so many days of hiking. Use a trail running shoe instead from Altra.
Before, I used the braces available on the shelf that go under on the foot inside the shoe. The plastic buckle on it become painful in few days.
The tayco fix this and allow me to hike all day and preserve muscle strength. Without the brace the ankles grow tired, and more likely to fall or twist.
I don’t tighten the straps much to prevent compression, hardly notice I’m wearing them, and they still work great.
I did have the lower strap tightened too much which lowered its buckle to close to ground, and it wore out quickly.
Tayco provided great support to fix and replace.

I bought this for my son after he injured his foot playing football. The brace has provided him with confidence and support after some healing time so he could get back out on the field with his team. As parents it provides us with some comfort knowing that he has some extra protection and support. This thing is sturdy and the real deal.

I had my left ankle replaced in 2025, this brace was recommended and it's been amazing. I used it throughout several months of Rehab and now continue to use it for most athletic activities including golf and a significant amount of weekly Pickleball. it's easy to take on and off, easy to adjust the straps based on the type of shoe I'm wearing. I continue to wear the brace 18 months after surgery as it provides confidence that I won't reinjure my replaced ankle. Great customer service as well!!!
